The state-approved resort of Schwielowsee, nestling between extensive pine forests in the charming landscape of the Brandenburg Mark region, is possibly one of the most beautiful spots along the picturesque chain of Havel lakes. Located at the southernmost point of the Havelland region, it is one of the largest lakes in the state of Brandenburg covering approximately eight square kilometres, and is perfect for exploring by canoe. Be sure to take a day trip out on the lake by sailing boat or motor boat, or allow yourself to be pampered on board the “Weisse Flotte Potsdam” fleet of boats. With its three towns of Caputh, Ferch and Geltow, which together form the municipality of Schwielowsee, the lake has always been a popular holiday paradise. This pleasant environment offers many possibilities for hiking on foot, cycling or boating on the lake. A unique highlight of this region is the “Tussi II” cable-operated ferry that crosses the River Havel.
