The Spremberg dam restricts the river Spree to form a reservoir that is about 605 hectares big. The reservoir is surrounded by a nature conservation area of the same name. Along the shore, there are various tourist and recreation facilities, such as campsites, eateries and hotels. The body of water is considered to be particularly rich in fish. Fishing from boats is permitted and a boat is also very convenient for reaching the many sandbanks in the reservoir. Parking is available, for example, at Spreecamp Bagenz. Please refer to the operator’s website for specific rules for the body of water.
