The Muskauer Park / Park Muzakowski is a landscape park in the English style dating from the first half of the 19th century; it is a leading example of the European garden style of the time and a unique combination of nature and garden design. It is located along the River Neiße on both sides of the shore, in Poland (in Łęknica) and in Germany (in Bad Muskau). The park was created on a total area of about 700 hectares by Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, a German nobleman, recognised author, theoretician and practitioner of landscape design. The park, which is located in the curve of the Neiße Valley, impresses visitors with its masterly use of the area’s natural strengths. The Muskauer Park can be explored on foot (individually or with a guide), by bicycle, in a carriage or even in a kayak or pontoon boat. Walking along the picturesquely winding pathways, visitors come across viewpoints with stone benches from which they can enjoy the view of all the aspects that make up the park. The park changes its garments each season, and for each different hour of the day, gradually revealing its beauty.
