The PLASTINARIUM came into being after extensive rebuilding work, an anatomical expertise centre spanning almost 3000 square metres. Visitors can look forward to a mixture of ‘body worlds’ and plastination, involving conserving and preparing human and animal bodies and body parts. The impressive educational specimens, produced in Guben, demonstrate how humans’ and animals’ mortal bodies can be maintained for posterity and made aesthetically appealing using unique plastination technology, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and fragility of our existence up close.
