Just like the River Havel river, Potsdam’s diverse art scene runs like a ribbon through the city. It is impossible to imagine Potsdam without the arts. The Museum Barberini and the Potsdam Museum as well as in Schiffbauergasse the Kunstraum Potsdam and the Museum FLUXUS+ are amongst the most important places to enjoy art. Alte Fahrt, past the Freund- schaft Island to the quarter of Schiffbauergasse. Here, at the cultural hub of the city, you can see more sculptures such as the imposing “Krieger” by Armando and also visit the Kunstraum Potsdam and the Museum FLUXUS+. If your feet are tired, but you’re hungry for more, take the tram line “Kulturtramlinie 93” from the Schiffbauergasse quarter to Glienicke Bridge. Directly on the shore of Lake Jungfernsee is the Villa Schöningen, which exhibits national and international art in- and outdoors. Additionally, the museum’s café provides a small, well-deserved art break. For your return, we recommend taking the water taxi: departing at the bottom of the Glienicke Bridge its route takes you back downtown to Potsdam’s harbour.
