The imperial sailors’ station “Kongsnæs” not far from Glienicke Bridge is a former mooring station for boats of the Prussian royal family, which were used for pleasure cruises on the River Havel. It was built between 1891 and 1895 according to plans by the architect Holm Hansen Munthe. The ensemble in Norwegian dragon style consists of a reception pavilion, a hall known as the “Vente Halle”, a boat shed and three residential buildings for staff.

The complex changed hands several times and partly burned down at the end of the Second World War. After the fall of the Wall in 1990, the Förderverein Kongsnæs e. V."" (Kongsnæs Development Association) dedicated its efforts to the reconstruction and renovation of the existing buildings.

At the beginning of 2009, a Berlin jeweller acquired the property from the city of Potsdam. Today, the buildings house restaurants and apartments.
