start/finish: German-Polish Tourist Information in Frankfurt (Oder)
length: 17 kilometers
duration: 3 - 4 hours
arrival/departure: RE1 from Berlin to Frankfurt (Oder)

The tour begins at the German-Polish Tourist Information in the historic Bolfrashaus. If needed, additional excursion tips can be provided, and informational materials can be obtained. Passing through Olympiahain and to the right of the Kleist-Museum, you'll reach the Oder promenade. A weekday coffee break can be taken in the Gräfin-Dönhoff building of the Viadrina European University. After that, you cross the pedestrian and cyclist wooden bridge to Ziegenwerder Island. Along the Hermann-Weingärtner-Weg, the cyclist passes by the stadium of friendship and the park called Anger. Through the rose garden and past the striking Gertraud Church, which preserves the treasures of St. Mary's Church, the route leads past the Kleist-Monument, over Gertraudenpark, and to St. Mary's Church. Here, it's advisable to dismount to explore one of the largest sacral buildings of Northern German Brick Gothic, with its colorful choir windows from the inside and to enjoy the panoramic view from the tower.

Continuing on Große Scharrnstraße, you then cycle over the city bridge to Słubice. At the first intersection, turn right along the Polish Oder promenade, always with a view of the border river and towards Frankfurt (Oder). After a few minutes, you reach the BAZAR. There, a busy street must be crossed to enter the park. The Kleist Tower and the Ostmark Stadium are also worth a stop and visit. Nearby is a leisure center where you can play a round of mini-golf in the summer or go ice skating in winter. Along the long pond and through the allotment garden complex, you reach a playground with a recreation area (Park Pionierow Slubic). The Freedom Square with the monument of "Kätchen von Heilbronn" is also on the route. Next is another beautiful park, where you can take a break during the warm season on the so-called Friendship Square. The rooftop terrace of Collegium Polonicum should be the next longer stop. From up there, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city bridge and Frankfurt (Oder).

After this additional panoramic view, head back to Germany and Frankfurt (Oder). Passing through Schulstrasse, past Topfmarkt and the concert hall, you reach Klingetal. Many carved fairy-tale figures can be seen in the forest of the same name in Lienaupark. Continuing on Poetensteig and Bergstraße, you reach the park at the Klinge and the Kießling buildings. Then it's off to the Botanical Garden. The return journey takes the cyclist through Kleistpark and Lennépark before reaching the starting point of the route again with the German-Polish Tourist Information.
