The nature conservation area of Groß Schauener Seenkette, which is around 50 kilometres to the south-east of Berlin, is a popular destination for nature lovers. From a 12-metre-high observation tower at the Großen Wochowsee, it is possible to observe cranes, Nordic Geese, cormorants plus osprey and sea eagles. With a bit of luck, you may even hear the cry of the bittern in spring. The extensive network of waterways is also the ideal habitat for otters.

How to get there:

Take the A10 as far as the Spreeau motorway junction, continue on the A12 towards Frankfurt (Oder) as far as the Storkow exit. Continue on the B246 through Storkow to Groß Schauen. From the Naturgut Köllnitz on the B246 near Groß Schauen, it is another 2 kilometres by foot along the about 3 kilometers long nature trail.
