Arriving Departure

by car: B168 Müncheberg - Prötzel, then towards Buckow (Märkische Schweiz) center

by public transport: RB26 from Ostkreuz or Lichtenberg (every hour) to Müncheberg, then continue briefly with the Buckower Kleinbahn or bus 928 to Buckow Markt

Description

The starting point is the Buckow center, where the tourist information is also located. The route leads through the castle park, which no longer houses a castle, but has extensive green spaces and places of peace.

A highlight is a visit to the nature park exhibition in the Schweizer Haus. The barrier-free and modern permanent exhibition "Expedition to Märkische Schweiz" offers an informative and inspiring opportunity to explore the nature park.

There are numerous resting places along the way, including an idyllic natural garden and a Kneipp treatment area. On the Hopfenweg you pass the vineyard, a former hop-growing area. The hike ends at the shimmering turquoise Schermützelsee, a fauna-flora-habitat area. Back in the town center of Buckow, cafés and restaurants invite you to an enjoyable end.

The path is suitable for walkers and wheelchairs with wide tires and has accessible toilets at ground level.
