In the Schlaubetal Valley, wonderful gems lie waiting for the attentive hiker to discover in the unspoilt natural landscape. Alongside the Schlaubetal hiking trail, many more hikes are guaranteed to open up personal perspectives and leave a lasting impression of the natural world. A beautiful walk leads past the Kleiner Treppelsee lake and then on round the Großer Treppelsee. You should start this walk from the parking area by the B246 near the Bremsdorfer Mühle youth hostel. If you have enough stamina and enjoy walking, you can extend the hike by diverting off to Lake Hammersee. Here, you can visit the Forsthaus Siehdichum. Its name can been translated as the “Look Around You Forester’s House” and, as you might guess, there is a wonderful view across the Schlaubetal Valley from the restaurant terrace.

Whichever routes through the Schlaubetal Valley that you choose when planning your trips, you’ll find that you’re constantly coming across new, surprising landscapes, discovering unique views and enjoying unforgettable experiences. There are good reasons why nature lovers regard the Schlaubetal as an insider tip. Many of the visitors who have visited the Schlaubetal come back again.

Afterwards, you can visit the Heidereiterei- & Forstmuseum (Heath-Runners & Forestry Museum) in Grunow-Dammendorf. This provides a glimpse into the 500-year history of forestry in the region. A nature trail informs visitors about plants and long-forgotten professions.
