Start/finish: Treppeln, Schlaubemühle

Arrival/departure:

RE 1 to Jacobsdorf, continue by bus A400 to Treppeln, Schlaubemühle (April-October on weekends and public holidays)

Directions

The entrance is located between the car park at the former Schlaubemühle mill and the stop on the A400 excursion line. A narrow hiking trail leads between old beech trees to the stream, which flows into a pond dammed by beavers. Gnawed trunks and beaver cuts characterise the picture, while a footprint above the waterline continues the path.

The stream then meanders through cool lowlands and gorges up to 30 metres deep, flanked by alders and steep grassy walls. The trail leads back to the Schlaubemühle mill via a meadow and a small bridge that crosses the lively Gronisch stream.
