On this tour you pass nine lakes in mostly untouched nature with many beautiful bathing areas. As a highlight at the end you will reach the Spreewald biosphere reserve. The route runs mainly in or near the forest. Only at the end of the stage, when you reach the biosphere reserve, do you leave the forest into a field and (swamp) meadow landscape.

Length: 26.7 km, duration: approx. 7 hours

Start: Wendisch Rietz

Goal: Leibsch

Logo / route marking: Blue point on a white background

Arrival by public transport: From Berlin main station with the RE2 (Cottbus) to Königs Wusterhausen, then continue with the RB36 (Frankfurt (Oder)) to Wendisch Rietz (approx. 1.5 hours)

Departure public transport: From Leibsch with the bus 506 (Lübben) to Lübben, then continue with the RE2 (Nauen) to Berlin main station (approx. 2 hours)

Course: Wendisch Rietz, Glubigseenkette, Springsee, Grubensee, Godnasee, Wutscherogge, Neuendorf am See, Hohenbrück, Leibsch

Description of the route / useful information: This stage takes you from Wendisch Rietz over the Glubigseenkette, Wutscherogge and Neuendorf am See to Leibsch. Passing the small and large Glubigsee, the route continues over the Springsee into a moor area. Then on over the Grubensee to Neuendorfer See. Here the path always leads you along the lakeshore via Neuendorf am See and Hohenbrück to Leibsch.

In Neuendorf am See, especially in spring, it can happen that you cannot pass the wet meadows at all or only with difficulty. For this an alternative route leads along the road to Leibsch. Or they walk barefoot for about a kilometer.

Sights:

  • Wendisch Rietz: Leisure park, Glubigseenkette, Kalkmoor
  • Neuendorf am See

  • Leibsch: lock and weir system

Road conditions / route expansion: predominantly unpaved roads
