The Großer Glubigsee is part of the Glubigsee chain and draws its water from the lakes in front of it, such as Grubensee and Springsee. The area around the lakes is 88 per cent wooded. The bathing area at the Großer Glubigsee is located at the southern end of the lake in a holiday park and has a jetty with the option of jumping into the water. Kayaks can be hired at the Fischhaus Wendisch Rietz on the Kleiner Glubigsee.
