Wendisch Rietz is the perfect place for water lovers. Swimming, surfing, sailing, boating or canoeing - everything is possible. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can simply take a boat trip across the Scharmützelsee. You can then go hiking, cycling or horse riding in the nearby Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park.

Also in the Haus des Gastes, right next door is the "Bücher & mehr": a cozy reading place with a small but fine selection of novels, children's, youth and non-fiction books as well as a children's play corner and a small selection of board games.



A pleasant atmosphere and a cozy seating area invite young and old, tourists and citizens to browse. The offer can be used free of charge. If you wish, you can leave a small donation for new purchases.



Free Wi-Fi is available and you can use the desk in the anteroom of the library if you need to do some business while on vacation or need a bit of peace and quiet to do some housework or similar.
