In the Heimattiergarten Fürstenwalde about 330 animals in 80 species can be marveled at. The majority of the animals in the zoo are European species such as bison, red deer, fallow deer, mouflon, foxes and lynxes. But there are also some exotic species such as Bennett's kangaroos, white-tufted monkeys and dwarf otters. Furthermore, you can marvel at many birds of prey and owls in the Heimattiergarten, among them are the largest species with the steppe eagle, golden eagle, white-tailed eagle and eagle owl, and with the little owl also the smallest native owl species.

For the children there is a petting zoo with sheep and goats. A snack bar with a playground invites you to linger. The zoo school and environmental meeting place offers curriculum-related classes for grades 1-13.

When visiting a group, for organizational reasons, registration is necessary three working days before the planned visit.
