The park railway has been “puffing” through the Cottbus park area since 1 June 1954. The Cottbus park railway starts from the railway station Sandower Dreieck and goes on a 3.2 km long round tour. The journey goes along green parks, passes the football stadium and the zoo. The train operation is mostly arranged by children and young people who work there on a voluntary basis as conductors and train guards. The young boys and girls also enjoy to explain the thrilling technology of the signal boxes and vehicles to the adult guests.
