Along the way, farms and workshops invite you to watch the masters at work and sample regional specialities – or simply let the special tranquillity of the Spreewald’s natural surroundings work its magic.

The starting point is the centre of Burg (Spreewald), right next to the tourist information office. From here, the route follows a tributary of the Spree towards the Bismarck Tower. The 27-metre-high observation tower on the Schlossberg offers sweeping views over the unique landscape of rivers and meadows.

The route continues past Lake Willischza, through the sprawling scattered settlement, across open fields and through small, picturesque woods to the Ringchaussee – always accompanied by the typical blend of water, forest and open spaces.
