Cranes flock to the region in their thousands in autumn. But this varied cycle tour is also worthwhile at other times of the year: it follows the Niederlausitzer Landrücken mountain range, leads along large mining lakes and dips into the idyllic Spreewald. The small towns of Luckau, Lübbenau and Calau invite you to stop for a bite to eat. Fieldstone churches and rural parks, the Slavic castle in Raddusch and other museums as well as the Heinz Sielmann Nature Discovery Centre in Wanninchen are well worth a stop for a closer look.
