The varied surroundings of the historic Fürstlich Drehna castle ensemble can be explored in a relaxed manner on a short cycle tour. It was shaped by ice ages, the lords of Fürstlich Drehna Castle and lignite mining. The former vineyard, small fish ponds, old forests and young lakes lie close together. If you're lucky, you may come across interesting plants and animals in the areas, some of which are protected: for example, picturesque copper beeches, gloomy Low Lusatian lowland spruces, spicy-smelling gale bushes, melancholically calling fire-bellied toads and noisy tree frogs.
