The triple windmill in Straupitz is the last of its kind in Europe. The linseed oil that is well known far beyond the Spreewald region is produced here once again. The building complex that is listed as a protected European cultural monument is not only home to an oil mill, but a saw mill and a grain mill used to be operated here, too. This unique historic setting is home to the ‘Müllerhaus’ (‘miller’s house’) with its restaurant. The small menu includes regional specialities, some of which feature freshly pressed oil from the mill.

The typical potatoes in the skin with curd and linseed oil are served here, as well as herring in cream sauce or ‘Grützwurst’ sausage with sauerkraut. There are also some sweet treats, such as pancakes and sheet cake. Cold drinks are also available.

There is room for 40 people inside the miller’s house, and more than 80 people can enjoy views of the industrial monument in the outdoor area on fair days. Presentations are regularly held in the saw mill.
