The impressive brick structure is the oldest building of the Peitzer Land region, and the area’s most important witness of fortification history. It is now home to a museum. In the attic, there is a multi-media exhibition, in which whispering figures walk about the former role of the fortress in Peitz. A digital map table shows the former fortress on historic maps. In the upper barrel-vaulted room, there is an exhibition about the Margrave Johann von Küstrin of Brandenburg-Neumark, who arranged for the fortress to be built. From the 35 metres tall ridge turret, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the town and the surrounding area.
