From Neuruppin to the Oderland - Crown Princes, Electors and Spa Resorts: The Historic Town Centres Cycle Route 1 allows you to explore the Hohenzollern in Brandenburg. It takes you to Neuruppin, for example, whose early classicist townscape was shaped by Frederick William II, to Rheinsberg Palace, the Court of the Muses of Crown Prince Frederick and his brother Henry, and along the Oderbruch, a former marshland, which Frederick the Great had drained. The route also takes you to the thermal brine spa of Templin and to the health resort of Bad Freienwalde, the “wellspring of health” of Elector Frederick William I.
