The more than 40 metres high steeple of Boitzenburg’s village church is visible even from a far distance. The structure was built in the second half of the 13th century as a single-nave church without a steeple. 4 of the 5 bronze bells were lost in the two world wars. The Romanised annexes that were added in the 18th and 19th century provide the church with its impressive appearance. Striking features include the leaded glass windows that are decorated with emblems, an 18th century retable by Bekmann, and many tombstones. The marble gravestone of Georg Dietlof von Arnim deserves particular mention here.
