Leaving the village, the hiking trail leads along a narrow, tree-lined cobbled granite street. Hikers can hear the calls of cranes in the moorland forests before they reach Poratz with its plain but very well-maintained half-timbered houses. The route goes on through forests and later on meadows and fields with extensive views. It is apparent around here that the Uckermark is among Germany’s least populated regions. At the end of this stage in Peetzig there is yet another bathing lake.
