The third stage of the Märkischer Landweg trail covers from Flößerstadt Lychen to Templin. Passing along the lakes Zenssee and Platkowsee it leads to Alt Placht, which has a small village church that is well worth a visit. Via Annenwalde artists’ village and Lake Röddelinsee, the route goes on to the historic centre of the spa town of Templin.

Start: Lychen / Finish: Templin

How to get there: Take the RE5 (Rostock) to Fürstenberg/Havel from Berlin central station. From here, take bus 517 (Templin) to Lychen (approximately 2 hours).

Return journey: From Templin, take the RB12 to Berlin Ostkreuz (approximately 1.5 hours) or the RB63 Schorfheide-Bahn to Eberswalde and then change for Berlin.

Route: Lychen, Alt Placht, Annenwalde, Röddelin, Templin

  • Lychen: Flößereimuseum (Rafting Museum), St. Johanneskirche (church), visitor centre in Naturpark Uckermärkische Seen (Uckermark Lakes Nature Park)

  • Templin: St. Maria-Magdalenen-Kirche (church), historic town centre, Museum für Stadtgeschichte (museum of town history), St.-Georgen-Kapelle (chapel)
