The “Altes Kino” (old cinema) has been the cultural heart of Lychen for over 130 years. Feature films were shown here up until 2003, and the cinema was then re-opened in April 2010.

Today, the Altes Kino also hosts cultural events such as art house cinema, concerts, theatre, readings and dance evenings.

A youth meeting is held here every Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Here, children and young people from the age of 11 can play Nintendo Wii on the big screen, play table football, learn to play musical instruments, dance or sing karaoke, listen to music, or just relax with their friends.
