Which regional specialities should I try?
Regional classics such as Spreewald cucumber salad and pickled gherkins from the Spreewald are just as much a part of the experience as asparagus (‘white gold’) from April to June. The hearty Knieperkohl cabbage comes from Prignitz, whilst Teltow turnips are considered a historic delicacy. Plinsen, a type of regional pancake, are also typical, particularly in the Spreewald.
