The Johanniskirche church is a one hundred year old Gothic Revival brick church. The church is not currently actively used by the parish. Nevertheless, is it one of the most striking buildings in the town.

It was built as a replacement church for the dilapidated half-timbered church of the Reformed Evangelical descendants of the Huguenots and Swiss nationals who fled to Prussia. Despite suffering significant damage during the Second World War, the church survived. It was restored on several occasions after the war until a complete renovation was necessary to save the church after the fall of the Berlin Wall. On its 100th anniversary, the church cupola was gilded and the tower clock was put into operation again.
