The little village of Ort Glambeck can certainly be described as “quiet corner”: Cars can only get to it via cul-de-sac through dense forest. For cyclists, however, it is much different because the Berlin-Usedom long distance cycle route and the Uckermark circular cycle path run through the idyllic village. The small village is home to some very special sights, such as the Kirchlein Am Welsetal – one of the smallest churches in Brandenburg.

What is even more impressive is the life that has been breathed back into the church. The church has become a place for the most diverse encounters: Concert series such as the “Glambecker Claviermusiken” piano festival draw audiences from beyond the region and lots of artists are shown at regular exhibitions. As a cyclists’ church, it is also a place of tranquillity and reflection for many holidaymakers – there is also a RadlerPoint and rest area.

For visitors to the village, there are other buildings besides the church that are worth looking at, such as the restored pigeon tower and Glambecker village museum.

Location and fittings: rural, open church

Offerings: Exhibitions, cyclists’ prayers, concerts, bus parking nearby
