The gallery was opened following extensive renovation of the Old Town Hall of Biesenthal. Changing art exhibitions are hosted in the wedding chamber and the adjoining rooms of the historical half-timbered town hall, mainly photography and painting. It's not just established artists that are exhibited here, school classes, for example, are also involved – such as part of the colourful exhibition of student portraits. The gallery is right next to the Berlin-Usedom long distance cycle route and is worth stopping off for.
