The sculpture courtyard in Friedrichswalde showcases art objects mostly made of wood and stone in the courtyard and the garden. The natural and primeval materials Lutz Kittler uses for his sculptures - mainly basalt lava, granite and wood - determine the works' motifs and shapes. A key inspiration for his work is the link between nature, religion and art. His style is dominated by archaically abstract elements. Animals, plants, people or their chimerical compositions are presented in the shape of columns, temples and altars.
