The circular trail runs along by the water and there are a number of lovely little natural bathing areas along the way.

Length: 2.5 kilometres

Start/Finish: Parking area in Böhmerheide at “Restaurant & Café am Weißen See” on the south bank of the lake

Starting from the bathing meadow, the narrow, easy to walk path heads in a westerly direction. At the boat landing stage, the view opens up through the reeds and you can see the entire lake. The north bank of the lake tends to be shaded (ash, poplar, elm and hazelnut trees). The trail runs under the hillside of the stretch of woodland along the bank. The bank then levels out again and becomes brighter. The inlet fosse to Lake Papensee, a moor, is crossed by a wooden bridge. Old trees line the final leg of the trail back to Böhmerheide, and after about 2.5 kilometres you come back to the starting point at the bathing meadow.

Trail conditions: Forest paths and dirt tracks

Maps/Literature: Pharusplan Schorfheide, Maßstab: 1: 42.000, Verlag: Pharus Plan, 5. Auflage 2021,

ISBN: 978-3-86514-142-2, price: Euro 5
