The tour begins at Groß Schönebeck train station and leads through part of the village, along dirt tracks and forest paths to Treptow Lake and almost fully around it before returning to the starting point via the cycle path along the roadside. The hike can be extended to include going around Lake Weißen See, which offers an enticing bathing area in summer.
