How to get there: NEB RB 63 from Eberswalde or Templin, RE 3 and RB 24 from Berlin, car via the A11 motorway

Route description: The tout begins at Schorfheide-Info in Joachimsthal. Once you get to Lake Schulsee, there is an impressive old avenue of apple trees, then on via a forest path past pines used to extract resin, to a rest area with a wonderful view of the varied, open landscape. Lake Schulsee lies hidden behind willow bushes and alders. Another rest area at the raised hide offers a beautiful panoramic view of the diverse landscape formed by the last Ice Age and the town of Joachimsthal.

Sights: Joachimsplatz and the town hall, Schinkel church,, Kurfürstenbrunnen fountain, bee display and sculpture garden, old apple avenue, information panels on old ways of using the forest, rest areas, red deer feeding, part of the state hunting fence and gates, boar gates and entry points and the former stone quarry

Trail conditions: Paved, dirt tracks and forest paths, signposted and marked (yellow dot)
