Following extensive restoration work, since 1997 the building has been home to the Eberswalde Museum with permanent and special exhibitions on the history of the town and the local region, as well as the tourist information centre and the town of Eberswalde’s cultural department.

The half-timbered house with its eye-catching corner entrance and the gold-plated eagle is an architectural monument of great significance nationwide, and features typical Renaissance elements. The barrel vault in the cellar and the black kitchen with a chimney leading up to the roof allow you to dive into a bygone age when people still cooked over an open fire inside these four walls.

Nice to know: Museum Eberswalde, founded in 1905, not only presents its valuable collections on the history of the building, the town and the surrounding region, its spaces also provide insights into the history of Eberswalde.
