Experience history up close and follow in the footsteps of both the mighty and ordinary people who defined Schorfheide. A visit to Jagdschloss Schorfheide hunting lodge makes this possible. In Schorfheide “Jagd und Macht” (hunting and power) have been closely linked for almost a thousand years. The hunting lodge built in 1680 by the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm in Groß Schönebeck is part of this history too.
The “Jagd und Macht” exhibition illustrated the age of the Prussian kings and German Emperor, the period of upheaval from the democracy of the Weimar Republic to the dictatorship of the National Socialist era and the recent past in Schorfheide up until German reunification using image and sound material. A significant part of how the rooms are arranged over two floors is how surprising visual axes are played with together with video projections. A whole-room audio installation has been developed that makes it possible to experience the various epochs and historical events through different sound worlds.
