Please note: Due to construction work on the locks along the Finowkanal, there will be long-term restrictions on the waterway. The Heegermühle lock is currently closed.

The Heegermühle lock is the westernmost lock in the Eberswalde municipal area and is located in the Finow district. It will reopen in 2026 after several years of construction. There is a popular ice cream café in the immediate vicinity of the lock, which provides delicious refreshment on weekends. The lock is user-operated.

History: The first lock in Heegermühle was built in 1620, and a new one was built between 1743 and 1746 after the lock fell into disrepair during the Thirty Years' War. In 1826, a lock was built in the northern part, which was filled in again in 1932 due to declining traffic on the Finow Canal. The lock in its current form was opened in 1876, and the steel upper gate was replaced in 1969. In 2026, the lock was completely rebuilt and automated.
