The manually operated Ruhlsdorf Lock is one of the 12 historic locks along the Finow Canal. The lock in its current form was completed in 1878. There are pontoons in the upper and lower sections of the lock. In addition to moorings, the towpath offers cyclists fantastic views of the historic lock. The lock itself is not open to the public.
Up until 1997, the future of the Finow Canal was uncertain. In 1999, Euro 20 million was spent on renovating the canal and locks, which are now exclusively available to pleasure boats, sporting boats and passenger boat cruises.

Measurements: Lock chamber 41.07 metres long; 9.54 metres wide, upper and lower gate: 5.75 metres wide respectively.
