The "Verein Kulturhaus Heidekrug 2.0 e. V." association was set up by culture enthusiasts from Joachimsthal. They established the Heidekrug cultural venue as a centre of cultural life in the Schorfheide. An ever greater number of visitors is attracted to the wide range of events such as rock concerts, theatre performances, classical concerts, documentaries, children's cinema, the "Weltmusikfest" "world music festival" and the annual Outdoorwochenende (outdoor weekend event).
