The nature park town of Biesenthal lies in the middle of the Barnim Nature Park. It is surrounded by unspoilt nature and the glacial landscape of the "Biesenthaler Becken" nature reserve, which with its growing moors and species-rich wet meadows and forests is probably the greatest highlight of any hiker.

Biesenthal is a lively cultural town with numerous lakes in the surrounding area, many opportunities for excursions, charming cafés and restaurants. In addition, there are both a Protestant and a Catholic church and a Jewish cemetery dating from the mid-17th century.

Biesenthal can proudly look back on a history of over 750 years, making it one of the oldest towns in the Mark Brandenburg. The "Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm" (Emperor Friedrich Tower) on the old Askanian castle hill is well worth seeing, and the people of Biesenthal say you can see all the way to the sea from its viewing platform. The same goes for the market square with the reconstructed old town hall, which was returned to its original purpose in 2003. It houses the mayor's office, the tourist information office, the local history office, the wedding room and a gallery. Brandenburg's longest station street with numerous villas from the Art Nouveau period is also worth a stroll.
