Get out of the urban jungle and welcome to the FELIDAE Barnim Wildcat and Species Conservation Centre. Away from the urban hustle and bustle and the asphalt desert lies a little paradise that we want to share with our visitors. The small private zoo of just under 2.5 ha is located in the beautiful Tempelfelde in Barnim.

The facility is dedicated to the preservation and protection of small and large predators. Special emphasis is placed on the feline family - the Felidae. Here you can observe snow leopards, clouded leopards, cheetahs, fossas, ichtneumons, spotted and striped hyenas, genet cats and many more from very close up, almost eye to eye.

A very special and prominent resident of the facility is foundling tiger Diego. He was abandoned in front of a veterinary practice in 2015 when he was just a few days old and found his final home at the FELIDAE with his partner Heike. After three years of construction, the two big cats were finally allowed to move into their new, approx. 1200 square metre enclosure, including lying platforms and a bathing pond, in spring 2021.

Another highlight is the visitor concept: the grounds are not freely accessible, as is usual in zoos. Our animal keepers guide visitors through the facility on guided tours. Exciting information about the animals, insider knowledge and insights behind the scenes are therefore guaranteed. Those who want it even more exclusive can even establish special contact with selected animals in a VIP guided tour with their own group, for example by feeding them or cuddling them at the bars.



The programme includes:

- Regular group tours

- VIP tours

- Children's birthday parties

- School and day-care centre tours

All tours can also be booked in sign language.
