At the southern outskirts of Märkisch Buchholz the Dahme cycle path and the Hofjagdweg Cycle Path (which takes you all the way to Lübben) cross. In Märkisch Buchholz you cross a bridge; next to it you will see the cascade weir of the Spree-Dahme flood canal. The weir’s artificial waterfall is 6 metres long. In Rietzneuendorf, the Dahme Cycle Path crosses the Gherkin Cycle Path, which also leads to Lübben. In Golßen, you should take a detour to the Spreewaldhof farm and its farm shop. There a numerous information boards about the Dahme-Mühlenweg path all along the cycle path. In Dahme, the route takes you through the baroque Palace Park, which is south of Kolpin. This is where the Dahme Cycle Path finishes: the Dahme source.

Route description:
Märkisch Buchholz in the town centre turn right in the direction of Golßen, Teurow, Halbe ~ cross the bridge, on the left is the cascade weir of the Dahme flood canal (6 metres altitude difference) ~ continue straight on to the junction of the cycle road in the direction of Teurow ~ past the Lake Oderiner See rest area ~ in Teurow turn right onto Dorfstrasse ~ cross the level crossing and follow Schulstrasse on the left ~ after leaving the village about 3 kilometres to Freidorf ~ in Freidorf ride along Dorfstrasse ~ then turn left into Oderiner Strasse in the direction of Golßen / Briesen ~ continue on the asphalted road in the direction of Briesen ~ along Elisabeth-von-Schlieben-Strasse and Schulstrasse ~ Briesen castle is on the left ~ then turn into Lindenstrasse and turn right onto Staakmühler Weg in the direction of Golßen / Staakow.

Drive through the village of Staakmühle ~ continue straight on along Dorfstrasse through the village of Staakow ~ cross the motorway bridge after the village, continue to Friedrichshof and Rietzneuendorf ~ follow Rietzer Strasse and turn left into Hauptstrasse ~ (here the Dahme Cycle Path meets the Gherkin Cycle Path) ~ behind the rest area at the pond and the Dahme Bridge you continue through the village centre ~ before the castle you turn right and follow the road Zum Sandberg and Baruther Strasse on the left ~ continue through the forest and through the nature reserve (please note: there are 8 sleepers on the road which are difficult to see!) ~ turn right behind the Dahme Bridge and follow the cycle path next to the Dorfstrasse road towards Golßen.

In Golßen cross federal road B 96 / 115 and follow the Strasse der Einheit to the market place ~ here turn left into the main road in the direction of Dahme ~ continue straight ahead on Luckauer Strasse to the junction on the right in the direction of Dahme / Sagritz (sign saying “Fischverkauf”) ~ pass the Kanow mill along the “DahmeMühlenweg” path ~ continue through the villages of Sagritz and the Vordermühle ~ before Krossen turn right onto the main road ~ then follow Lindenweg on the left, this leads past the Brandmühle mill and the Kleine Mühle mill ~ now cross the railway crossing on Kümmritzer Strasse in the direction of Dahme and Wildau-Wentdorf.
From here onwards, the route of the Dahme Cycle Path is almost identical to the Flaeming-Skate route! (highly visible due to blue lane boundary markings!) Drive through the village of Wildau-Wentdorf along Dorfstrasse, past the Dammühle mill ~ continue along the bicycle road and then follow the cycle path that runs parallel to road number 71 ~ turn right to Prensdorf ~ in Prensdorf follow Dorfstrasse and turn half left out of the village, from here continue along the combined foot/cycle path ~ shortly before Dahme follow the designated cycle road to the village entrance ~ on Quellweg pass the multi-purpose hall and turn right into Trift street ~ shortly afterwards turn left into the castle grounds ~ (information boards show town maps with Fläming-Skate route highlighted; the Fläming-Skate route is identical to the Dahme cycle path) ~ behind the castle grounds continue along the Nordhag city wall and follow Heinrich-Mann-Strasse on the left ~ past the Vogelturm (bird tower) cross main road number B 102 ~ through a gateway and then right past the cemetery, along Tränkestrasse ~ then turn left into Herzberger Strasse and follow the Flaeming-Skate route in the direction of Körba / Herzberg.

After about 1 kilometre turn left in the direction of Schwebendorf ~ in Schwebendorf turn right in the direction of Schöna / Kolpien and to the Dahme source ~ in Kolpien follow Dahmer Strasse to the Dahme source ~ you pass a Dutch windmill ~ finally, a 1.5-kilometre two-lane field path takes you to the finish. The source of the river Dahme is in the middle of the forest.
