By the historic village green, the main street runs around an oval area on which the neo-Gothic Protestant church stands. The church was built in the years 1878 to 1880 to designs by the Building Inspector, Deutschmann. The structure replaced a little half-timbered church that had become dilapidated over the years.

The church originally had three bells, one of which dated from the beginning of the 14th century. However, metal was needed in the two world wars, and the last bell was melted down in 1943. As a replacement, a steel bell was installed in the tower – it is more than a metre in diameter and weighs around 700 kilograms.

The interior was largely restored in the 1960s in a contemporary style. The coloured glass windows in the choir show the birth of Jesus and a glass wall decorated with a radiating design divides the space into a winter and a summer church.

The church is part of the “Open Churches” initiative; please book in and obtain the key from the Pfarramt Friedersdorf (parish office), Lindenstrasse 17.
