Lake Kleiner Moddersee is part of the Teupitz waters – a chain of lakes that are connected with each other via canals and which are richly stocked with fish, especially whitefish, zander and eel. Apart from the Teupitzer, Schweriner and Zemminsee lakes, all the lakes are in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, including Lake Kleiner Moddersee.

The Teupitz waters are part of the federal waterway system and can be used by motor boats. The areas along the banks of the lakes are characterised by pine forests, areas with sandy, dry grasslands and mixed deciduous forests. The waters are naturally cloudy with a visible depth of less than 50 centimetres.

Only a limited number of fishing permits are available for the Kleiner and Großer Moddersee lakes.

Facts about the lake:
  • Fish species: Particularly good stocks of zander, eel and whitefish. Pike, common bream, carp and catfish can also be caught.
  • Tenant/operator: Fischereibetrieb Rangsdorf-Teupitz
