The Pätzer Vordersee is part of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park and covers an area of approximately 1.7 km². The villages of Bestensee and the hamlet of Pätz lie on its shores. The lake is connected to the Pätzer Hintersee to the south and to the Todnitzsee to the north.
