In the Generations Forest on Mühlenberg in Bestensee, nature, memories and local folklore come together. Since 2006, local residents have been planting trees here to mark special occasions such as births, weddings or in memory of loved ones. Amidst the trees and the neighbouring vineyard, visitors encounter the ‘Bestwaners’ – mysterious goblins from Manfred Prosch’s book ‘Bestenseer Märchen’. These man-sized figures, carved from wood, were created by a chainsaw artist and lend the place a very special atmosphere. Alongside the goblins, the Snow Queen and the Falconer can also be found here. They make the Generations Forest a popular destination for day trips and a place for people to meet.
