Situated on the Dahme river and home in the past to skipper families, Wildau once supplied bricks to Berlin and later became known as an industrial town. At one time it was dominated by the Schwartzkopff locomotive factory. The Schwartzkopffsiedlung, which is now listed and was previously home to many working-class families, makes for a highly interesting visit. During the guided tour, visitors get to see the old industrial halls. The Technical University and the Centre for Aerospace Technology are bringing the restored halls back to life around an old locomotive. The new riverside hiking trail along the Dahme can also be included in the tour.
