How to get there: From Berlin central station, take the RE2 (Cottbus) to Königs Wusterhausen (about 30 minutes).

Return journey: From Bestensee, take the RB24 (Eberswalde) regional train to Berlin Ostkreuz. Continue from here by taking the S5 (Spandau) to Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) (about 1 hour).

Route: Königs Wusterhausen, Lake Krüpelsee, Körbiskrug, Neu Kamerun, Bestensee

Route description: From Königs Wusterhausen station, past the Neue Mühle lock and as far as the entrance to the zoo, you can follow the red dot along the waterside path. At Gräbendorfer Strasse, the circular trail around Lake Zeesener See starts; it is marked with a yellow dot. There is an accompanying forest path next to Luchstrasse, Bergstrasse and Körbiskruger Strasse. At Lake Zeesener See, you can take a short break at the rest area. The walk takes you to Bestensee station around the clay lakes along lake Großer Tonteich and then past some boggy ponds along lake Kleiner Tonteich. There are two more rest areas along the lakeside path by Lake Todnitzsee before you then arrive in Bestensee.
