This circular walk takes you through a widely varied natural and cultural landscape. Moor and freshwater lakes, lichen-pine forests and rare sandy, dry grasslands create a mosaic of different habitats. From the historic centre of the municipality of Groß Köris, the path travels nine kilometres around Lake Großer Roßkardtsee and Lake Güldensee.

How to get there:

Train: south from Berlin Ostkreuz on the RB24 regional train towards Senftenberg (travel time around 35 minutes)

Car: coming from Berlin, take the A13 towards Dresden, take the Groß Köris exit, parking available at station and at the supermarket next door.

Route: Groß Köris, Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, Groß Köris

Outdoor experiences: 

“Three Oaks” natural monument, Lake Großer Roßkardtsee and Mochheide, sand, dry lawn, Lake Güldensee, old farmers’ pines with recognisable notches

Trail conditions/surface: The hiking trail runs along surfaced roads and forest paths. It is easy to walk on all the way along.

A voyage of discovery in the Sutschketal.
