The Federweiss Trail can be started at the Mittenwald Wine House at Yorkstraße 45. Along the Notte Canal, one of the first navigable waterways in the Mark Brandenburg, you turn off into the fields at the village of Schenkendorf. The loop across the extensive fields ends again at the Notte. Along the Notte, the path leads back to the starting point.

The path along the Notte Canal is popular with cyclists and hikers. The trees provide shade in summer and the firm surface is suitable for both bicycles and walking shoes. The garden at the museum am Salzmarkt is home to 90 vines. A vine over 50 years old grows on the facade.

It is worth extending the hike to the village of Schenkendorf. The colliery settlement and a small lake are contemporary witnesses to mining in the region.
